Store Manager
Weisman Discount Home Centers is a New York headquartered retail chain which currently operates eight (8) stores. We have been in business for over 70 years.
The Company is focused on the kitchen cabinet, flooring and bath categories. Our focus is to offer great prices and customer service to the urban and lower and middle income customer through convenient neighborhood locations.
We operate in a discount, no frills, low overhead, cash-and-carry environment. We sell quality products at a great value. We believe that our store model is unique and is in demand.
The successful candidate will have several years of experience as an assistant store manager or as a store manager. We desire people who have a background in the discount, home center, big box or other specialty retail environment. You need to have a passion for selling and providing excellent customer service. You must have the ability to recruit, hire, train and motivate your staff.
The essential job functions and skills we require are as follows:
- Drive sales with product knowledge
- Drive sales with excellent customer service
- Drive sales by managing and motivating your staff
- Pro-active approach to all store issues
- Solve problems that arise in your store
- Manage a clean store that is customer friendly
- Manage your store to achieve its sales goals
- Manage your store within an overall expense budget
- Maximize and control your store staffing/payroll hours
- Control all inbound and outbound merchandise shipments
- Manager your store's inventory levels
- Control and manage your store's expenses
- Manage the store within the guidelines established by the company's SOP or standard operating procedures
- Supervise and evaluate all store employees
- Manage a staff of incentive driven cabinet salespeople
You must be able to communicate effectively with customers, store employees and corporate office personnel.
